This family-friendly walk takes you into the forest then through the meadows at Granier on a fairly-flat "balcony" path with clear views to the other side of the valley.
A pleasant walk in the shade of the forest and in the sunshine, with beautiful views. An orientation table will help you get your bearings.
1/ The trail starts either in the village centre or on the bend of the D218 road before the village, at the chapel of Notre-Dame-du-Foyer.
2/ Two variants are possible as you walk.
3/ One in the forest that takes you down towards the hamlet of La Thuile.
4/ And the other, a lovely walk along the little canal.
5/ Depending on your starting point, you either follow the road back to the chapel or take the footpath that goes down under Prachanié refreshment bar back to the village.
The chapel of Notre Dame du Foyer was built in 1941 by the village's inhabitants, to thank the Virgin Mary for saving them after war was declared on France by Italy in 1940. The chapel is a rare example of a shrine built in the 20th century and features modern architecture with trompe l'oeil interior paintings and statues in moulded plaster.
