Fort du Mont

Description

Built between 1877 and 1881, at 1130 meters elevation on the western flanks of Roche Pourrie, this defenseive fort and garrison, with the Laitelet and Têtes bunkers, is strategically placed between the Beaufortain Mountains and the Tarentaise Valley.
Extremely well preserved, today it houses a cheese-aging facility for Beaufort cheese.

Tips

Guided tours in the summer for individuals, by reservation for groups (limited access to the fort depending on the time of year).

Ouverture

From 01/11 to 30/06, daily.
Guided tours on reservation for groups and according to the program of animations for individuals.
Site closed to the public outside visits. (Access to the site is restricted depending on the time of year).
